Privacy policy
This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website, request a file or subscribe to our newsletter, and what rights you have. It applies to everyone, wherever you live. We process data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
1. Who is responsible

2. Visiting this website
This website (archthoughts.com) is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Cloudflare Pages). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technical data your browser sends (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) to deliver the page from a server near you and to protect it against attacks. These logs are kept only briefly. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We use no cookies, no analytics and no tracking pixels on this website, and we load no fonts or scripts from third-party servers. Our fonts (Inter Tight and Instrument Serif) are hosted on this website itself.
3. Requesting a file
When you fill in the form, we process your email address, your first name if you enter it, which Reel the file belongs to, the platform you came from (for example Instagram) and that you confirmed being 18 or older and having read this policy. We also store when you signed up and confirmed your address, as proof of the confirmation.
- Purpose: to confirm your email address (double opt-in) and send you the file you asked for.
- Legal basis: taking steps at your request to provide the free file (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We send you no advertising on this basis.
- Storage: if you did not tick the newsletter box, we delete your data 12 months after we sent you the file. Until then we keep it so we can resend the file if you ask.
- Required or optional: we need your email address to send you the file; without it we cannot send it. Your first name is optional.
4. Newsletter (only if you ticked the box)
If you ticked the newsletter box, we send you an email every one to two weeks with new free 2D/3D assets and tutorials, plus occasional offers for our own products: courses, paid assets, and Rhino and other digital tools for architects and product designers. We address you by your first name if you gave it to us.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 174 of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021).
- Withdrawal: every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to architthoughts@gmail.com. Withdrawing does not affect emails sent before.
- Storage: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a block list so we don't email you again by mistake, plus the record of your consent (time, wording of the checkbox, confirmation click) for as long as we may need to prove it.
- No open or click tracking: we have switched off open and click tracking in our email tool.
5. Service providers we use
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France): stores the form data and sends our emails. Data is processed in the EU under a data processing agreement.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): hosting and delivery of this website, see section 2.
- ManyChat, Inc. (USA) and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.: if you came here from an automatic Instagram message, ManyChat processed your Instagram username and your messages to send you the link. Meta's and ManyChat's own privacy policies apply to that conversation.
- Google Drive (Google Ireland Ltd., Dublin) or Dropbox (Dropbox International Unlimited Company, Dublin), depending on where the file is stored: hosts the files. When you click the download link, the provider processes your IP address and browser data under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your data and do not pass it to anyone else for their own advertising. Where a provider is in the USA, the transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of the European Commission of 10 July 2023, Art. 45 GDPR) and/or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
6. Contacting us by email
If you write to us, for example about a file or a collaboration, we process your name, email address and the content of your message to answer you.
- Legal basis: steps before or for a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), otherwise our legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Storage: until your request is fully handled, at most 3 years. Correspondence relevant for tax purposes, for example about paid collaborations, is kept for 7 years as required by Austrian law (§ 132 BAO).
Our mailbox is hosted by Google (Gmail, Google Ireland Ltd., Dublin).
7. No automated decisions
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
8. Data security
This website is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS). Access to our email tool and mailbox is protected with individual accounts and two-factor authentication.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can object to direct marketing at any time, and you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Write to architthoughts@gmail.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at, or the authority where you live.
10. Age
This website, the free files and our newsletter are only for people aged 18 and over. When you sign up, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we learn that someone under 18 has signed up, we delete their data. Parents or guardians can write to architthoughts@gmail.com at any time.
11. Changes
We update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
